Wedding Stationery - The Ins and Outs

Wedding stationery is the first means of communicating with your friends and family when it comes to your wedding day. From the all-important date and timings, to the details and venue, a hint of the theme and colours, all these elements are indicative of your wedding day.

That is why choosing your stationery is one of the most crucial points of your wedding planning, and requires the necessary attention and the right vendor to ensure that everything is to your liking.

We teamed up with the creative Christelle Teissier and her team at Crème de Papier in Aix-en-Provence, who also produced our beautiful business cards, and who has the creativity and flair that we love at MY RIVIERA WEDDINGS.

A warm welcome to Christelle to share insights on all you need to know about wedding stationery.

1 | WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS & SPECIALITY

Crème de Papier is a design studio specializing in event aesthetics with creations that make an impression. Driven by a passion for graphic design in all its forms, the studio aims to offer original designs for your events and for creative entrepreneurs.

We have several complementary services: EVENT / BRANDING / DECO / ILLUSTRATION. We draw our ideas from current events, fashion, architecture and everything that has a creative meaning for us.

During the exchange with our client, we always try to understand their profile through different personal questions. The first contact is the most important so that the creative process is smooth.

Our specialty is to always be one step ahead by offering unique and personalised creations with THE details that make all the difference.

Depending on the location of the client, we receive them in our design studio based in Aix-en-Provence or we communicate via Skype, WhatsApp, Email or by phone.

2 | WHAT IS INCLUDED IN WEDDING STATIONERY

We create all the personalised stationery for your wedding, from the save the dates to the RSVP cards, invitations, menus, table plan, signage, escort cards and even ceremony programs.

Starting from the brief, the proposal becomes reality through tailored questions to suit you and which helps us create the unique elements which will make the difference for your wedding day.

Our forte is to keep the visual identity developed at the start and that it is maintained throughout the creative process in order to give unity to your event and great visual strength.

3 | WHAT IF THE COUPLE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT ALL THEIR NEEDS ARE AT THE START

From the initial exchange between the couple and ourselves (telephone, email, etc ...), we will define your needs and your desires.

Colours, fonts, mood, theme, type of stationery... We will ask you the right questions to dissect your wishes to in turn translate them into what you need or propose options for you to choose from.

In general, the location of the wedding already defines the design well, but there are graphic avenues to explore in terms of the clients' themselves (who they are, their background, likes and dislikes), their favorite colours, their hobbies...

4 | HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD COUPLES ANTICIPATE

This depends because you still need to book in a spot on a schedule that fills up quickly in high season (March to October).

In general, we ask for:

One (1) year in advance for the Save the Dates, between 9 and 6 months for the invitations and approximately 3 to 4 months for the wedding itself.

5 | WHAT IS THE TURNARROUND

The creative process generally depends by the printing technique > digital printing 7 working days / letterpress printing 15 working days.

To this one must add the graphic design lead time which can take 15 days minimum.

6 | HOW MANY EDITS ARE INCLUDED

We offer up to 3 editable versions in the creative process. Beyond that, an additional fee is to be added.

7 | WHAT IS THE AVERAGE COST

We do not have an average price to give for a set knowing that we offer tailor-made. It all depends on the quantities, the quality of the paper, the printing, the finishes, the details (illustration...).

You just need to be aware that all custom projects require a minimum investment. A tailor-made creation is a real collaboration over time with a dedicated team, personalised monitoring and the guarantee of a unique quality project.

8 | HOW DO YOU CALCULATE HOW MANY PRINTED ITEMS ARE NEEDED

As an example, if you plan to host a wedding for 120 people, you will need approximately 60 invitations to send because in general there are couples living at the same address.

10 | IF A COUPLE WANT CALLIGRAPHY ON THE ENVELOPE

We offer a tailor-made calligraphy service that match a few writing styles. It is possible to choose one of the models and we will write the desired addresses on the envelopes one by one.

The cost of calligraphy depends on the writing style, the form of the text and the choice of colour.

This process is longer and more expensive than our envelope printing service, but it is very qualitative. More info on the website: www.cremedepapier.fr @cremedepapier @ligneetpoint
