We caught up with Nicole Soechting, Event Manager at the hotel, part of the Oetker Collection, to learn more about its quintessential uniqueness and things to look out for when choosing a wedding venue.
1 | What are the typical questions you get asked by bridal couples?
Available dates during the summer months and a budget estimation. Having said this, we only organize weddings at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in low season as the hotel is usually fully booked from May to mid-September by its longstanding loyal summer guests. In regards to budgets, we do not have any wedding packages. Every wedding is an ‘à la carte’ unique event.
2 | What are questions you recommend bridal couples ask their venue?
What is possible and what is not possible?
Music until late at night or early morning is often very important for wedding couples.
What setups can be done and are there any time restrictions for setups and dismantling.
Which items will be provided by the location and what has to be rented in addition.
It is also important to get an idea of the food and beverage services including their costs.
3 | Are there limitations to what you can and cannot do at a wedding venue?
Music is often limited especially in hotels. Another big constraint can be time for setups and dismantling of all decoration items. In hotels that are not privatized for wedding celebrations, it can be difficult to combine a wedding party and the other individual guests staying at the hotel at the same time.
4 | What makes your establishment so sought-after?
The hotel’s history and reputation as well as the location and service excellence are main criteria by choosing Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for a wedding celebration.
Most of our wedding couples especially the brides have stayed with us before, some of them have stayed with us each year for their annual family summer vacation. They have grown up at the hotel and it has become their second home and their dream to bring all their family and friends together at this place to celebrate their wedding.
5 | Do you offer the possibility to entirely privatise? If so what are the possibilities? Are there certain dates only?
Yes, you can privatise the entire Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for your wedding celebration. One of the advantages is of course the privacy.
During two days we close the gates and the entire property is all yours. Beside the wedding itself you can have a big pool party all weekend long.
And there is no restriction for any music. You can dance all night long at your wedding.
The exclusive hire of the hotel is possible in April and from mid-September to mid-October.
6 | How many guests can you accommodate for an entire privatisation?
We have a total of 115 rooms and suites as well as two villas. This makes a total of 121 sleeping rooms.
7 | Do you have a preferred list of vendors you work with or can the couple choose their own?
Couples can choose their own vendors from all around the world but we can of course recommend vendors if they wish.
8 | Can fireworks, Chinese lanterns, rose petals be strewn/used?
Fireworks can be organized from the sea in front of the hotel and rose petals can be strewn in the Main Alley. Having said this, more and more wedding couples care for the environment and support sustainable development and therefore do not organize fireworks anymore but a mapping on the hotel building.
Chinese lanterns are not allowed due to the fire risk of the pine trees of the garden and the related pollution of the sea.
9 | How many car parking spaces are there?
We have a total of 80 underground parking spaces.
10 | What is the most beautiful memory you have of a wedding at the establishment?
Each wedding has its memorable moments. But I will never forget the wedding couple who was dancing exactly the last dance of Baby in Dirty Dancing for their first dance.

12 | How many guests is the maximum you can accommodate?
We can host a seated wedding dinner for up to 220 guests in our banquet spaces but we have also done weddings for up to 500 guests by building up a tent structure on our tennis courts.
13 | Best month for a French Riviera wedding?
Mid-September to mid-October when most tourists are gone and we are still enjoying gorgeous weather and the after summer season.
